Gwent Hospitals Contributory Fund forms link with ACASC
31st January 2012
Health cash plan provider, Gwent Hospitals Contributory Fund (GHCF), has become a strategic partner of the Association of Community Amateur Sports Clubs (ACASC).
GHCF has committed to providing a bespoke health cash plan package for sports teams, athletes and individuals, offering a low cost alternative to private medical insurance and cash back on medical procedures such as dental and optical care.
Members of ACASC can now benefit from a comprehensive health cash plan package from as little as £1.95 per week or £8.45 per month with benefits including personal accident cover to medical specialist fees and physiotherapy.
The ACASC helps community sports clubs maximise their unique charitable status and handle the regulations required by HMRC.
Speaking of the new partnership, chief executive at GHCF, Andy Wilkins, said: “It is vital that athletes and those that participate in regular sporting activities have access to the very best medical treatment and complimentary therapies and a health cash plan can be an effective means of ensuring this.
David Wilkinson at ACASC said: “We have a database of more than 3500 sports clubs across the UK and I see real benefit in many of them offering this package to their members and athletes. There is a certain level of injury risk associated with most sports so it is important that our athletes are protected against this.”
